Heidi Øiseth grew up in Oslo, Norway, educated at the Nydalen School for painting and Oslo School for painting and drawing.

Her preferred mediums of fabrics and crafts she to her mother’s family in Telemark, while both her father and grandfather were painters.

Øiseth often works along a borderline between painting and drawing, between the past and the present, and between the traditional and actual.

Her work combines numerous textures, which lie above soft twill layers and create contrasts where different layers are covered by something else, layer by layer.
